Death Stranding 困兽 (2023) Review

Danny Pang is adapting a big-screen version of Hideo Kojima’s popular 2019 action game Death Stranding? It may share the identical title but Death Stranding <困兽> happens to be a crime thriller that has nothing to do with the video game whatsoever. Personally, if it turns out to be true, I would be worried, given his painfully erratic track record these days.

Nearly two decades after Donnie Yen last co-directed with Barbara Wong in the unfunny action-comedy of Protege de la Rose Noire <見習黑玫瑰> in 2004, the martial arts superstar returns to the director’s chair in Sakra <天龍八部之喬峰傳>, a wuxia epic adapted from Jin Yong’s celebrated Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils novel.

A Murder Erased 被消失的凶案 (2022) Review

At one point in A Murder Erased <被消失的凶案>, Joe Junior who plays Santos — the Department Director of Public Prosecutions talks about faeces both literally and figuratively. It was more of a monologue I’m not sure whether it’s meant to be taken seriously or simply as a joke.
