Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms 封神第一部: 朝歌风云 (2023) Review

The last time I saw an epic fantasy film based on Xu Zhonglin’s 16th-century classic novel The Investiture of the Gods was the horrendous result of League of Gods <3D封神榜> in 2016. Seven years later, Wuershan’s Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms <封神第一部: 朝歌风云>, however, seems more promising and even ambitious enough to expand the movie into a trilogy, which was reportedly shot back-to-back.
